What we collect, and what never leaves your phone

What stays on your phone

Your saved games, run history, the companies you built, your investment positions, your daily streak, your settings, and the detailed gameplay logs the game keeps to tune its own balance. That includes anything you typed yourself: your own startup idea, the problem it solves, who it is for, your company's name, and the product specification the game writes from your answers. All of it lives in the app's private storage. Deleting the app deletes all of it, and none of it is uploaded.

What is sent to our server

When you first open the app it creates an anonymous account. That account has an identifier and nothing else — no email, no phone number, no real name.

Attached to that anonymous account we store:

• Finished runs — the score and summary numbers (revenue, burn, churn, hype, the outcome, which idea you picked, the app version and the game mode), so the leaderboard can rank them.
• Your display name, and the display names you used before it. The name is drawn from a fixed word list inside the app; you never type it. Changing it keeps the previous one on record with the date it was retired.
• Seven product events, and only these seven: that a run started, that a run finished, that you reached the final screen, that you copied or saved the product specification, that a build-tool link was shown to you, and that you tapped one — with the name of the tool. We count these to know whether the game is finished and whether those links are useful. They carry no score, no idea, no choice you made and no text.
• Notification data, only if you turn notifications on — your device's notification token, your app version, your device language, and the reminders scheduled for you.
• Your notification settings. Which categories of notification you have switched on or off, your quiet hours, and whether you want previews to show details. These are your choices about what we may send you, kept so they apply on every device you use.

What we never collect

Your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, location, health data, payment details, browsing or search history, or any advertising or hardware identifier. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app contains no advertising, analytics or attribution SDK.

Who else sees it

Only Supabase, which hosts the database on our behalf, and Apple, which delivers push notifications when you have enabled them. We have no advertising, analytics or attribution partners.

The leaderboard

It shows a rank, a score, an outcome and a display name. The display name comes from the app's own word list — you roll for it and can change it in Settings at any time. It is the only thing about you the leaderboard carries, and it is visible to other players. If you skip the question your rows read “Founder”, which is everybody's default.

Notifications, and how long we keep the token

If you allow notifications, your device's notification token stays attached to your anonymous account until you delete your account or delete the app. Turning individual notification categories off in Settings stops us sending them, but does not by itself remove the token. Deleting your account removes it immediately.

Links out of the app

The game lists real build tools. Tapping one opens your browser and leaves the app; some of those links carry a referral code that may earn us a commission if you sign up. The ranking is by fit to what you built and is never affected by commission. We do not attach anything about you to those links. Once you are in your browser, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Deleting everything

Settings → Delete my data erases your anonymous account and everything attached to it: your runs, your display names and their history, your notification token, your notification settings and the seven product events above. There is a 14-day grace period during which you can cancel from the same screen. Financial ledger rows the law requires us to keep are separated from your identity rather than deleted, so they identify nobody afterwards. Deleting the app removes everything held on your phone.

Children

The game is about running a company and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age, beyond what is described above.
